Hypervision Surgical, a London-based health-tech venture working to make surgery safer and more accurate by giving surgeons a ‘superhuman’ level of vision, is delighted to announce the appointment of Martin Frost CBE as the company’s Chairman. In this role, Martin will provide invaluable guidance to the Hypervision Surgical team as the company enters its next growth phase and advances its commercialization efforts.
With over two decades of industry experience, Martin has a proven track record of transforming healthcare technology ventures into global successes. Notably, he co-founded CMR Surgical in 2014 and served as its CEO. Under his visionary leadership, CMR Surgical became a globally recognized player in the surgical robotics industry, known for its groundbreaking surgical robot, Versius. Martin’s outstanding achievements earned him recognition as ‘UK Disruptor of the Year’ in the 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year awards and ‘Executive of the Year’ at the 2019 MedTech Insight awards. In recognition of his extraordinary contributions to Robotics and the British Industry, he was awarded a CBE in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours.
One of Martin’s exceptional accomplishments was raising over £250 million in funding to scale CMR Surgical, a record-breaking feat for any private European medical devices business. This achievement highlighted his ability to secure vital resources and accelerate substantial growth. Before his role at CMR Surgical, Martin held several C-suite positions, including CEO and CFO of Sagentia, a leading technology development company based in Cambridge. He also successfully listed Sagentia on the London Stock Exchange, showcasing his expertise in financial markets and strategic development.
I’m very much looking forward to working with Michael, the board, and investors to bring this hugely promising technology to the market.
