In July, Hypervision Surgical (“Hypervision”) had the privilege of participating in two flagship sessions at the Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS) Annual Meeting in Strasbourg, France — the leading global forum for innovators in digital surgery and robotics. We joined the podium with top surgical vision and robotics pioneers to discuss the future of intraoperative imaging and secured 2nd place in the SRS Shark Tank competition for breakthrough surgical technologies.
On the Plenary Stage: The Future of Intraoperative Imaging
Our CEO, Michael Ebner, represented Hypervision on a plenary panel discussing The Future of Intraoperative Imaging, chaired by two pioneers of surgical innovation — Richard M. Satava and Frederic Moll, who is widely regarded as the father of robotic surgery.

Michael shared the stage with global leaders shaping the future of precision surgery:
- Brian Miller, EVP & Chief Digital Officer, Intuitive
- Santiago Horgan, VP of Medical & Surgical Advancement, Stryker
- Manisha Shah-Bugaj, CEO, Activ Surgical
- John Santini, President & CEO, Vergent Bioscience
- Bill Peters, CEO, On Target Laboratories
Together, the panel explored how next-generation imaging — from spectral to fluorescence to AI — are unlocking a new era of surgical intelligence. The discussion focused on empowering surgeons with more precise, objective, and data-driven decision-making in the operating room, paving the way for better patient outcomes.
It’s an exciting time for surgical imaging — we’re moving towards a future where real-time, intelligent vision becomes the standard of care.
— Michael Ebner, CEO & Co-Founder of Hypervision

SRS Shark Tank 2025: Hypervision Takes Second Place
The excitement didn’t stop at the plenary. Hypervision proudly secured second place in the SRS Shark Tank 2025, hosted in partnership with Puma Venture Capital.
The event spotlighted breakthrough innovations in digital and robotic surgery, with twelve emerging MedTech companies hand-selected to pitch to a world-class panel of surgical, MedTech, and investment leaders. Judges assessed each presentation on innovation, clinical impact, market potential, business model, and overall presentation quality.
Michael presented Hypervision’s AI-powered surgical intelligence platform, which leverages on-chip hyperspectral imaging for real-time tissue characterisation — enhancing surgical precision without the need for contrast agents.

The judging panel included:
- Dr Santiago Horgan – Global KOL General Surgeon; VP of Medical & Surgical Advancement, Stryker
- Dr Martin Roche – Global KOL Orthopaedic Surgeon; Director of Arthroplasty, Hospital for Special Surgery Florida
- Kurt Azarbarzin – Medical Device & Robotics Executive; former CEO of EndoQuest Robotics, Verb, and others
- Steve Bell – Medical Device and Surgical Robotics Expert; Founder, How to Startup in Medtech
- Rob Morgan – Partner & VP of Medical, Sagentia Innovation
- Dennis McWilliams – Managing Director, SANTÉ
Event Co-chairs:
- Dr Vipul Patel – Medical Director, Global Robotics Institute, University of Central Florida
- Amit Hazan – Founder and Managing Partner, Puma Venture Capital
Winners:
- 1st place: Vitestro – Autonomous blood collection using robotics + AI
- 2nd place: Hypervision – AI-powered hyperspectral surgical imaging
- 3rd place: Virtuoso Surgical – Dual sub-millimetre manipulators for unmatched endoscopic precision
It’s a distinct pleasure to have our work recognised by such an esteemed panel of global leaders.
